27 KILLED IN BOMB EXPLOSION.

  Somalia has been left in mourning after two bomb explosions took place. The first bomb explosion took place at Merca in Somalia town. The bomb was targeted to leaders in the town by the Al- Shabaab. Security personnel from the region claimed that the bomb killed the mayor of the town, Abdullahi Ali Wafow among others killing a total of 20 people. The security official claimed that the Al-Shabaab was responsible for the attack. The security officer also claimed that the Al-Shabaab culprit that was doing that was so merciless and that he was sure he went invading other countries too. The second bomb attack took place at a different place of the city. It took place at a busy livestock marketplace of Agfoye. Police claimed that the attack was a landmine attack. An eyewitness confirmed that 7 people were killed while 14 were injured. The police in Mandera is yet to know who the real culprits were.

3 BODY-GUARDS DEAD

  Three bodyguards of the Kisii gubernatorial aspirant Manson Oyongo have perished in a road accident. The accident took place along Kisii- Kilgoris highway at Nyambunwa. They were in a probox vehicle when they knocked a bodaboda motorist making one among the five from the probox die instantly. 2 others died on arrival to the hospital. Several others got injured and are receiving treatment. The area inspector claimed that the car was moving at a high speed. The Inspector also claimed that the 5 were from attending a burial function in Nyaribari Masaba heading to Bomachoge when the unfateful happened. The probox car has already been taken to the nearest police station as it awaits investigation. The Inspector has also claimed that the river driving the probox ran away due to fear but they are working on finding him and taking him to court.

NITHI BRIDGE FATAL ACCIDENT

  More than 24 people were feared dead after a Modern Coast Bus company that was heading to Mombasa from Meru on Sunday evening lost control. Eyewitnesses claimed the bus lost control, making it plunge 40m deep into the Nithi River. Earlier today the Modern Coat Bus Company sent their condolences to the families of the deceased and wished quick recovery to the injured victims. Through a message posted this is what they said, ´We are still establishing the cause of the accident. The total number of fatalities is feared to rise as rescue operations continue to free those trapped under the wreckage and in the river´ The company however asked the deceased families and the injured ones to reach them out through 07 14 74 8895. Journalist Mutuiri Gitonga became a hero after having rescued a small boy who unfortunately died on arrival at the hospital. EXPRESSWAY FOR WE ALL

  The Chairperson of the Super Metro Bus Company has made claims over the denial of rights to use the expressway. Nelson Mwangi earlier today claimed that the expressway was purposely used to decongest the traffic on the road. He also captured that the expressway was to save on time. He added saying that he did not see any reason as to why KENHA revoked them the right of operating along the expressway. A few days ago an Embassava bus had an accident with a personal car at Mlolongo toll station right at the exit. The Kenya National Highway Authority announced the accident on its Twitter page saying, “Motorists are notified of an accident that has occurred along the Nairobi Expressway at the Mlolongo toll station, involving a PSV mini-bus. Multiple injuries have been reported, and traffic police are attending to the scene. MONICA KIMANI’S MURDER CASE CONTINUES

  Monica Kimani’s case today took a different approach as the Chief Investigating officer Maxwell Otieno, came out with fresh details concerning the murder. Maxwell Otieno told the court that Joseph Irungu who was commonly known as Jowie is the main suspect in Monica Kimani’s murder case. He claimed that Jowie visited the deceased place with a firearm, and it is the same firearm that he used to make the deceased submit. The investigative officer noted that there was prior planning of the murder before the deceased was murdered.   He claimed that the suspect used someone’s else Identity card to get access to the deceased residence. The suspect also burned the clothes he was wearing when he visited the deceased residence making it evident enough to the investigating officer that the clothes had blood stains. Just after Kenyans were fed up with the prices of maize flour, what everyone has been waiting for just happened. Earlier yesterday, the Ministry of Agriculture announced the new prices for maize flour.   In the last four months, maize flour has been retailing at a price of 230ksh, a price that did not go well with almost every citizen. After the ministry reviewed the prices it made it clear that a 2kg packet of ugali will now be retailing at 100shilings. A 1 kg of maize flour will be retailing at 52 shillings while a 500g packet of flour will now be retailing at 30shillings. The ministry of agriculture added saying that it has made a deal with the maize millers that they will now be producing maize flour at a cheaper price and retailing it at a wholesale price. According to the Ministry of Agriculture, the new price of maize flour will only run for four weeks until the election period is over. THE MATTRESS OF DEATH

  A family in Emukaya village in Kakamega county is mourning the death of one of their family member. The family of Margaret Shioso is mourning the death of their 24-year-old son. The son is said to have been stabbed to death by his sister over a mattress argument. The argument arose when Oscar Shioso, the deceased confiscated a mattress from his sister. It is from this that the sister became bitter and stabbed his brother to death. The wife of Oscar Shioso claimed that the sister who is 20 years of age stabbed his husband. Minutes later after realizing he was not dead yet he went ahead to stab him again. According to the family, the two siblings have been in a long-standing battle over the sister’s relationship with a police officer. They claimed that the relationship irritated Oscar Shioso a lot and he would complain about it a couple of times. SONKO SOBS IN SORROW

  Just a day after the Supreme Court gave the former Nairobi Governor the mandate for vying for the Mombasa gubernatorial race, earlier today the Supreme Court made it clear that the decision has been revoked and that he will not be able to vie for the same seat. Mike Mbuvi Sonko has been on the highlights since IEBC began the process of analyzing all candidates. The procedure IEBC was using was fair and unique in that no candidate would be pronounced qualified not until all his required documents were dag into. Apart from their documents, their physical approach to how they have been running in office and how they ended up getting impeached from office was followed too. KENYATTA UNIVERSITY VICE-CHANCELLOR RESIGNS

  The Vice-Chancellor of Kenyatta University Prof. Paul Wainaina resigned from office early today. Prof. Paul Wainana has claimed that he is resigning from office because he does not want to give out the Kenyatta University piece of land to the government. During his speech to students and council members of Kenyatta University, Prof. Paul Wainaina claimed that he has received close to three letters in a span of two days. All these letters were asking him to avail himself for meetings so as he may sign documents to ascertain the leasing of the piece of land to the government. He read the content in all three letters which referred to the title deed numbers of the piece of land. The letters claimed that they give out a total of 338 acres of land to 4 different departments for different projects on each of the pieces of land. MYSTERIOUS MURDER IN MOMBASA

Earlier on Sunday, as Muslims were celebrating Eid Ul Adha celebrations all over the country, the celebration took a different twist in Mombasa county. One of the Mombasa County workers official Taufiq Abdalla under the ministry of environment got killed by unknown people. Taufiq Abdalla was in the company of his family and friends whom they were preparing to head to a nearby mosque for prayers in Old Town. It was here when a gang of three whose faces were covered approached them on a motorcycle. The three men shot the late Taufiq severally on his head and chest leaving him to death. The area police confirmed the incident saying they found the body of the late Taufiq lying lifeless on the pavement of his house. They however revealed that the CCTV footages around where Taufiq stayed are yet to produce concrete information concerning who killed him and why. TARU ROAD MYSTERY

  20 people have perished in Mwembeni area near Taru and Samburu along the Nairobi – Mombasa highway. The accident involved a minibus and trailer. The Coast Regional Commandant confirmed the accident saying that the driver of the minibus was trying to overtake when they knocked each other with the trailer that was coming from behind. The regional commandant claimed that all the 20 people that died were passengers from the minibus. He however added that 6 others got seriously injured and were rushed to hospital. He added saying that the death number might increase because of the condition of the ones that got injured. The bodies of the deceased have been moved to the Kinango sub-county mortuary. According to official data, the same road claims a total of 3,000 lives annually. TRANS MARA GOLDMINE COLLAPSES

  Earlier yesterday at Lolgirian mining site in Transmara, four people got buried alive after the mining site they were in collapsed. It was later confirmed that three died while one got rescued and managed to get out of the mining site.  Early this morning, operations to help remove the bodies of the three that got stuck began. Two bodies have been found and one is yet to be recovered. The chairman of Lolgirina farmers of gold, Simon Odoyo Jaramba confirmed the matter saying they received news yesterday that four workers had been buried at the Lolgirian mining site after the mining site collapsed. He said that the bodies of the two that have already been found have been taken to Kegonga Mortuary as they intensified operations to find the other remaining body. He added saying that the accident was the first to be witnessed at the Lolgirian farmers of gold which has left many in fear.   Just after some days when an accident occurred at Mlolongo Toll Station on the newly constructed Nairobi Express Way killing one motorist and seriously injuring several others, another accident has just happened tonight just at the exact spot.  Today evening at around 7pm an Embassava bus with a number plate KBY 585W and a personal car have been involved in an accident just at the same toll station that had an accident a few days ago.
