THE MATTRESS OF DEATH

 

A family in Emukaya village in Kakamega county is mourning the death of one of their family member. The family of Margaret Shioso is mourning the death of their 24-year-old son. The son is said to have been stabbed to death by his sister over a mattress argument.

The argument arose when Oscar Shioso, the deceased confiscated a mattress from his sister. It is from this that the sister became bitter and stabbed his brother to death. The wife of Oscar Shioso claimed that the sister who is 20 years of age stabbed his husband. Minutes later after realizing he was not dead yet he went ahead to stab him again.

According to the family, the two siblings have been in a long-standing battle over the sister’s relationship with a police officer. They claimed that the relationship irritated Oscar Shioso a lot and he would complain about it a couple of times. They added saying that Oscar was against the fact that the police officer would occasionally sneak into his sister’s house in the middle of the night. Something that did not go well with him.  

The motherofo Oscar claimed that indeed it is the relationship between her daughter and the police officer that triggered all the anger. She claimed that his son always confronted others police officers from the nearby police post to advise the police officer that was having an affair with her sister to stop immediately.

It is with this that the sister got irritated when her brother grabbed her mattress. However, residents around have claimed that the police post in the village is bringing more harm to younger girls. They claimed that villagers together with the police will go drinking, and after the drinking session, the police officers will sneak into the resident’s houses for refuge.

The body of the late Oscar Shioso is currently at the Kakamega County Morgue while the sister of the deceased will still remain in custody for further investigations.
