EXPRESSWAY FOR WE ALL
The Chairperson of the Super Metro Bus Company has made claims over the
denial of rights to use the expressway. Nelson Mwangi earlier today claimed
that the expressway was purposely used to decongest the traffic on the road. He
also captured that the expressway was to save on time. He added saying that he
did not see any reason as to why KENHA revoked them the right of operating
along the expressway.
A few days ago an Embassava bus had an accident with a personal car at
Mlolongo toll station right at the exit. The Kenya National Highway Authority
announced the accident on its Twitter page saying, “Motorists
are notified of an accident that has occurred along the Nairobi Expressway at
the Mlolongo toll station, involving a PSV mini-bus. Multiple injuries have
been reported, and traffic police are attending to the scene. Motorists are
advised to exit/enter the expressway at the Syokimau Toll Station, even as
rescue efforts are underway at the scene of the accident.”
The accident accelerated measures being put concerning PSVs. No
PSV vehicle was allowed to use the expressway and if found would be charged.
However, with all these regulations PSV’s have still been using the expressway
but with fear of being noticed. The PSV body is now asking KENHA and the government
to come in and listen to their plea of using the expressway.
