TARU ROAD MYSTERY

20 people have perished in Mwembeni area near Taru and Samburu along the Nairobi – Mombasa highway. The accident involved a minibus and trailer. The Coast Regional Commandant confirmed the accident saying that the driver of the minibus was trying to overtake when they knocked each other with the trailer that was coming from behind.

The regional commandant claimed that all the 20 people that died were passengers from the minibus. He however added that 6 others got seriously injured and were rushed to hospital. He added saying that the death number might increase because of the condition of the ones that got injured. The bodies of the deceased have been moved to the Kinango sub-county mortuary.

According to official data, the same road claims a total of 3,000 lives annually. The number of people that have died from road accidents since January 2022, is now at 1,900 increasing the figures from that of last year.

However, this not being the first accident happening at Taru, two years ago, in 2020 an accident took place at Taru killing two people. The accident involved a motorcycle driver and a minibus. The minibus was ferrying students that were heading home to Mombasa for their half-term. According to police who were confirming the matter claimed that the minibus driver was trying to avoid not hitting the motorcycle driver and it’s there where he lost control. Patients then were taken to the Mariakani police station.

In 2021, still at Taru 5 people perished in a road accident after a saloon car and a fuel tanker truck knocked each other. In this accident, the saloon car was ferrying a family. The family of 5, that is the couple and three of their children all perished on the spot.  4 others got injured and were rushed to the hospital for treatment.

RACISM IS BACK

The nation on Monday 30th 2022 woke up to trends all over the media on an open racism act that took place in our own Country. Alchemist a club located in Westlands, Kenya denied a  Kenyan the right to visit a public chill spot and have fun just like what one would do on a weekend. The main entry to the club was guarded by a security person as how it happens in all recreational places. Queues were being made as it always happen to make the entry place have some order. Now came the funny bit. There were two different queues. A queue specifically for the Indians and Whites and a different queue meant for the blacks. As if this was not enough, a black who probably was not aware that there were two different queues joined the White's queue. What happened next was indescribable. KWAASALI ROAD ACCIDENT

7 people have died in Kwaasali area along Thika- Garrisa highway over a road accident in Kanyonyo area. The accident involved a bus and a saloon car. A driver that was driving behind the saloon car said that the saloon car lost control and swerved to the right side of the road rolled twice making it get knocked by the bus. The area OCPD Mary Njoki has confirmed that all the 7 people died on the spot. The saloon car was traveling to Mwingi while the bus was heading to Nairobi from Garrisa. 5 of the 7 that died were from the saloon car while 2 were passengers traveling by bus. This comes two days after an accident occurred just two kilometers away from Kwasaali area at Kanyonyo in Matuu where 11 people died in a road accident too.
