BODY OF THE LATE JOURNALIST HAS BEEN FLOWN BACK TO PAKISTAN
The body of the late Arshad Sharif was flown back to Pakistan late last evening.
This is after Arshad Sharif met his death at Kiserian when he got shot by a police officer over mistaken identity.
Ashad Sharif was shot on Sunday evening at a farm in Kiserian, when the car he was in resisted to pass through a check point at Capital Hill.
4 GSU officer who were manning the road on that day have been questioned concerning the same.
According to the report given, a complainant had taken his case to Pangani police station over his missing car, Mercedes Benz sprinter van, KDJ 700F.
After a research by the police, the car was traced to being at Kiserian.
The number plate of the stolen car and the one Arshad was driving in were totally different.
Later on, after Arshad's car, Toyota Land cruiser V8, KDJ 200M, passed through the checkpoint one police officer fired 9 bullets which killed Arshad on the spot and also injuring Arshad's brother who was with him at that time.
After a day, the missing car that had been reported at Pangani police station the Mercedes Benz Sprinter van, was spotted yet at Kiserian with the complainant's son as the driver.
The case was later taken to the court where the complainant withdrew the case.
Arshad's family is now asking for answers as to how such an incident occurred. The family wants answers as to how police officers confused a Mercedes Van to being a V8.
Armaments possessed by the 4 GSU officers have been confiscated as investigations are still ongoing.
