AZIMIO’S COALITION MANIFESTO

                               

Azimio la Umoja presidential candidate Raila Odinga, has laid out the manifesto of their government in the first 100 days of office. This comes two days after IEBC verified their documentation of contesting in the august polls.

The manifestos were read at Nyayo Stadium in presence of his running mate Martha Karua, his supporters, and various political dignitaries.

His manifestos touched across all sectors starting with agriculture all the way to security. In the agricultural sector, Raila has vowed that they will review all policies and norms to guard the agricultural sector and introduce a minimum guarantee for farmers.

On livestock, his government will improve access to affordable credit for livestock production and also introduce a livestock insurance scheme.

In matters dealing with the environment, his government will introduce a life sentence punishment for people possessing or trafficking ivory and also introduces a high level of surveillance in national parks.

Matters dealing with fisheries and the blue economy, the Azimio government will review policies, standards and norms, regulations, and legislation to guide the sector.

In the manufacturing sector, the government will wave regulatory and other licensing fees for new youth lead innovations. It will also review the migration laws with regard to potential investors in manufacturing to attract foreign direct investment into the country.

In the energy department, his government will set a road map for the reduction of energy and also attract investment in renewable sources of energy.

For micro-small and medium enterprises, his government will award certificates to technicians through apprenticeship. It will have a running call of “Shahada la jitihada.” Not leaving aside bodaboda riders who will go through funding and training.

In the digital economy, his government will expand programs that will connect the youth to the digital economy that is the global network.

Matters dealing with debt management and public expenditure, the azimio government will commence negotiations for debt restructuring and also structured management that will help reduce the burden on Kenyan taxpayers.

The “Ïnua jamii” initiative will be to implement a cash transfer of 6,000 Ksh monthly to all persons and assist single mothers. It will also implement a social protection program for unemployed youth, that is the “Kazi mtaani”

The Azimio government will also review the cost of living and put a special focus on oil, fuel, flour, mobile data, and energy.

The “baba care” will also be initiated as an implementation of universal healthcare. Research will also be done in the health sector to facilitate the production of medicine locally and avoid importing medicine.

In the education sector, Raila Odinga has said that education will absolutely be free from primary all the way to university. Qualified unemployed teachers will be employed in the Azimio government.

In matters dealing with security, each police post will at least have 6 police officers to protect members of the society. They will be obliged to be friendly and not be hostile to citizens.

 He finished by saying that corruption is a threat to national security and his government will establish a specialized department in the security agency for corruption surveillance.
