RACISM IS BACK

The nation on Monday 30th 2022 woke up to trends all over the media on an open racism act that took place in our own Country. Alchemist a club located in Westlands, Kenya denied a  Kenyan the right to visit a public chill spot and have fun just like what one would do on a weekend. The main entry to the club was guarded by a security person as how it happens in all recreational places. Queues were being made as it always happen to make the entry place have some order. Now came the funny bit. There were two different queues. A queue specifically for the Indians and Whites and a different queue meant for the blacks. As if this was not enough, a black who probably was not aware that there were two different queues joined the White's queue. What happened next was indescribable. A  guard that was manning the queue just raised his hand in a manner explaining to the black to quickly leave the queue and use a different queue. There were blacks present who could be heard talking in pain...

PASTOR FROM HELL

A man of God from Baringo County wakes up one morning and decides to oven three merciless children for a reason of stealing cakes from his bakery in the middle of the night, worth only 80 shillings. The children had a tendency of working at the pastor's bakery on weekends since they were school children who during the week would go to school then when free on weekends they would now work at the bakery to get some little coins that would keep them pushing during the week. Neighbors around claimed the children were not well off. The incident started when one among the three children was spotted by the pastor holding a packet of cakes outside the bakery in the middle of of the night. The pastor went ahead and declared 20 packets of his rock cakes were missing something that was not true. The pastor ordered the boy to follow him to the kitchen and later ruthlessly asked the boy to step on fire. The heat from the fire on the boy’s legs seemed to be too much for the boy to continue s...

IS ABORTION ABOUT TO BE LEGALIZED?

For the past 50 years since Roe Verses Wade case of abortion in the US specifically in Texas came about, a lot of sittings by the Supreme court in the US concerning the same have happened and the case is bringing an uproar all over the world. Let me take you back to 1969. Jane Roe got pregnant and wanted to terminate the pregnancy but was not allowed to terminate it. Abortion back then in Texas was illegal but could only be legal if it was on the purpose of saving the mother’s life. Jane Roe's reasons of wanting to terminate the pregnancy was that she was jobless, not married and she already had two children. Jane Roe had her two attorneys who filed a case to the US federal court on her behalf against her local district attorney Henry Wade who had denied Jane the right to abort saying that Texas abortion law was unconstitutional. In 1973, the US Supreme court ruled in her favor indicating that the constitution provides a right to privacy and with this she won the case but t...

POLICE IMPUNITY

20th May 2022 at 5pm on my way back home from jogging, I happened to get tired and decided to stand just by the road to take deep breaths to regain my energy back before I embark on jogging. Just where I was standing, constructions of remodeling an old road were taking place. With this it means the normal size of the road will be reduced since construction is ongoing and therefore the remaining road is the one to cater for both cars that were initially operating on a two-way road to now operate on one. I become curious on understanding how all this happens. On one side of the road constructers are working, on the other side a traffic police is trying his best to control traffic, on the further end a  contractor is also keen to make sure the constructers are doing what is right and just from nowhere a cyclist is seen flying in the air. What happened is that a blue police car seemed to have lost control after not seeing some road block placed at some section of the road and wha...

HOMELESSNESS IS A DISEASE

About 2% of the population worldwide is homeless. That's a small percentage right? But surprisingly that's around 154 million people, a closer estimate to the whole Russian population living in the cold, getting rained on, being murdered, lacking basic and psychological needs with no little hope of living. It had never crossed my mind that a lot of people are actually homeless minus the normal street kids that we keep on knocking at in town until I watched LEAD ME HOME a documentary that was shot in the US explaining how 500,000 Americans experience homelessness every night having to survive on drugs to just feel okay. Have you ever asked yourself what homelessness is? From a recent survey that I carried out I found out is that basically almost 50% of Kenyans do not know what homelessness is. Every reply was homelessness is lacking where to sleep but shock on you the definition is way too far from this. Being homeless is staying in a place that is not suitable for human inhabit...

OVERTHINKING

I never knew I was a victim of overthinking until I I started feeling numb and my heart used to pace so fast just abruptly and I would wake up in the middle of the night just to stare which I do to date. Let me tell my story. I grew up in Coast, a city no one would ever wish to miss visiting but fate stroke and that's where reality started becoming a real reality. I don't know if you know the hustle of waking up in the morning, you look at your mom and you just can't look her twice because of what life has made her to be, you turn to the other side to face your dad and wow what you see is an empty seat. You in the middle of your teen age and the best feeling ever would always to come back home and be able to hop to both your parents telling them sweet nothings, calling them randomly during the day to just say hi but what you do is a random call everyday to just that soft voice of your mom. There is this other voice at the deeper end of your ears but it's way too far in...
